Workshops
Over the years as a glassmaker, Helen has shared her skills in a variety of hands on craft courses. Making kiln formed glass with enamels is a unique creative process which she enjoys teaching to others. The informal classes are suited to complete beginners and those with some experience of printing or fused glass. It is an enjoyable day out and no matter your making experience you will create your own unique glass piece to treasure!
Workshops take place in our dedicated teaching space next to our studio at Manchester Craft and Design Centre. Here we can offer more regular classes, in depth courses and private group workshops. Further details on scheduled dates and examples of participants work below.

Students are introduced to the printing process, taught stencil making and how work with colourful glass enamels, finished pieces are decorations, coasters or a hanging panel.

Layered landscapes
This course focusses on building up images in layers of enamel printed glass, students create their own panel or curved sculpture.

Woven glass
This workshop concentrates on glass cutting, enamel application and pattern forming, finished pieces can be a woven effect bowl or panel.

In this class students learn a special technique developed by Helen to recycle and fuse glass into a colourful bowl or decorations, participants learn how to cut glass, use coloured glass frit and spend a mindful few hours making their masterpiece.
